Stallholder Application - Market Rules and Regulations

The Ballarat Nightlife Market operates a number of Friday night markets throughout the year with an immense number of artisan stalls as well as food trucks to be involved. We are looking at the market to be held indoors from April - October (WINTER) and outdoors from November - March (SUMMER).

Market Stall Selection Process

In order to meet customer expectations, the Nightlife Market will prioritise food and drink stall holders however we do have a large venue space to accommodate all and aim to have a range of diverse artisan stalls of quality products at every market. We also permit non-local stall holders to bring more interest and customers to our market.

In order to apply to participate in our Nightlife Market, stallholders must:

  • Abide by the Market Rules and Regulations

  • Hold public liability insurance to the value of $5 million

  • Hold product liability insurance, where relevant

The Market Manager has the right to determine:

  • The maximum number of stallholders per market

  • The mix and ratios of stalls

  • The number and mix of food and drink stalls

  • Fundraising activities permitted at the market

  • Entertainment, food preparation demonstrations and other promotional activities undertaken at the markets

  • Variations to the Market Rules and Regulations

Approval of all applications is at the sole discretion of the Market Manager and all approvals will be based on the information given by the applicant on their application. The selection is based on product criteria, quality of the products, the demand of the product and the available space at our market venue.

The stallholder may only sell products listed on his/her application form. If a stall holder wishes to vary items for sales, they must notify the Market Manager prior to offering the items on the market day and may not offer items unless approval is given. If a stallholder's product changes, a new application form must be submitted.

The Market Manager has the authority to reject applications that do not comply with the Market Rules and Regulations.

The application forms are set up per market date. Please apply for each market date that you wish to attend. The market manager will be in contact with you after the conclusion of the previous market.

Upon submitting an application and gaining approval, stallholders agree that any images taken of their stall or products when at the market may be used on the Ballarat Nightlife Market website and social media pages.

As children will be in attendance, NO products/goods that could be considered OFFENSIVE may be displayed.

Once your application has been approved you will receive correspondence regarding market dates and availability. Submitting an application does NOT mean that you have been approved for a stall at the market.

You can fast track your application by ensuring you have attached all correct and relevant documentation.
